Odds and Ends

I’ve been poking around the GRE website some more lately, trying to decide when (and where) to take it. I was first thinking about late November, but after talking to a colleague, I’m thinking that would be too long a wait, and that I should focus my GRE prep and knock it out sooner. Now I’m looking at October. Oh, and did I mention the cost of taking the GRE?! $160! Holy Toledo!

Meanwhile, I’ve enjoyed talking with our cataloging intern about my plans. She currently attends the grad school I plan to attend, so she’s seemed very happy to give advice and answer my questions.

I’ve started to look into collecting my college transcripts for my application. Oddly enough, I noticed what seems to be a discrepancy on the website of the library school I’m planning to attend. One spot says one copy of each transcript is needed, and another place says two are needed. I emailed the contact person on the website, but haven’t heard anything yet.
